| I got the 6x6 allocation. Unfortunately I won't be able to take all of it. If anyone in the SF Bay Area is willing to share some of my allocation at cost, please PM me.

| 9/9/0/0 allocation for me. I took it all. It's getting very expensive but we love these wines. However, shipping costs are appalling! $61 for 18 bottles UPS ground -Dave- | | | |

| I have a hard time viewing <$4 per bottle as appalling. I guess it all depends on what you are used to. I think we have all ranted enough to know by now that wineries do not profit from shipping costs. They pass the actual cost along. At least they offer ground as an option. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| My only rant about Auberts shipping is that they do it very late for our area - the first week of April. It is generally OK for a 2 day but can be very warm by then. | | | |

| I was not even given the option of ground shipping to St. Louis...my only option was 2nd Day Air. | | | |

| Yes from west coast to east coast $61 would be fine. But I'm practically in their backyard. OK.... Maybe I'm out of line. That's $40/case... so that's not totally out of the correct range. Yes, I'm happy they offer ground - I get it overnight that way! -Dave- | | | |

| David - How did you get such a large allocation? I got the mere 6 & 6. Took it all without thinking twice. | | | |

Just a guess...and I'm not complaining in any way, because I could never afford David's allocation, but I suspect that Aubert uses a little bit of the Harlan mentality coupled with their guaranteed allocation. The more you ask for, the more they appreciate your tolerance for bigger allocations. Again, just a guess. I am pretty sure that I introduced David to this wine when I brought a bottle of '01 Quarry to an off-line at Town Hall in 12/03. If my memory is correct, then I have been on the list longer than he has, and have maxed out every offering. But I have never asked for more. If he has been on for fewer years and gets a larger allocation, it is either because asking for extras boosts you up, or because Mark and Teresa have some kick-a$$ appliances in their house. Or it could be that he has been on the list from day one. But the table-talk at Town Hall that night didn't seem to suggest that. Again, no complaints or jealousy. I don't want his allocation. It would kill me. | | | Beta testing a new signature.

Indeed. The $$ involved in paying for David's allocation is a substantial percentage of my wine budget for the year! | | | http://www.sweetandsourspectator.org

It would kill me. You are spot on Jimmy! It was at Town Hall. I've always thought that Bob brought that bottle but I was obviously incorrect. I remember I was sitting down at the other end of the table that you were and had to plead to get the bottle down to my end . I remember that was the first time that I met Randy Sloan also. He had this barrel sample of Cab that he had made that he "made" us all try. The rest is history. Thank you very much; I owe you bit time. It has certainly become my favorite Chardonnay.
I suspect you are correct about how I got this large of an offering. The only time I "complained" to Teresa (by email) was when I wasn't offered any of the first Pinot. Of course I hadn't been on the list that long (I didn't sign up until after that Town Hall dinner) and I asked nicely if I could get one never really expecting a yes (and indeed I didn't get one... and thank you Augie Hug for my first taste of that Mag).
Indeed I have taken everything they have ever offered. This will be the first time I will not take it all. I'll buy all the 750s but the premium on the Mags is a little more than I want to afford this year and I've got quite a few already from previous years. I will buy a couple of Mags though. It sure is hell on the cash flow though.
I've never met Mark or Teresa though I would love to one day (I've admired Marks work for a long time). I guess they don't have any winery events. How I got to this large allocation I have no idea really (do you suppose I have some sort of reputation of something) but I am sure happy with it. Like you shared with me that night a Town Hall I love to share great wines. Aubert is one of the very best because I have yet to pour anyone a glass (including many many Burgundian Crazies) that they haven't not just liked but loved! It IMO is that good that better bottles are few and far between.

| You are most sincerely welcome. Your "My cellar is your cellar" approach to sharing wine is one of the big reasons why no one will ever complain or be jealous about your allocations. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| I was allocated 3 Ritchie and 3 Lauren. If anybody wants them send me an email at joe dot dulworth at airmail dot net. We can work out details. I'd prefer to use your credit card and send them straight to your shipping address of choice than take possession and have to cross ship. | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |
