Is the new Batman movie something that really should be seen on the big screen? I generally don't go to the movie theater these days, but there are always exceptions to the rule. Should this one be such?
yes, definately! | | | |

Yes, and IMAX if you can. They went ot considerable expense to film several sequences in IMAX and I hear that they are breathtaking.

EXCEPTIONAL! Not a popcorn flick. Deffinitely a thinker. But man, Ben Affleck needs to give up acting and focus on directing. | | I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland. -- Woody Allen

| Hell Boy 2 - starts out slow and awkward. Picks up steam and improves. No surprises or plot twists. All plot setups are resolved in how you expect them to be.
Fun film. Not sure if it's worth $10.50 x 2 though on a Monday night. | | | TN posted on Cellartracker"

| Transformers - on cable. What can you say about a film that has gives the first credit to the Hasbro toy company? The film is a live action Saturday morning cartoon with suggestions of teen sex. Must be a winning combination as they are shooting the sequel. Recommended for boys 15 and under and for adults who never grow up. If you watch it, turn your brain off as you won't need it.

HAHA!
I saw it again on TiVo last night. I think it is good mindless fun. Megan Fox is rediculously hot. Shia LaBouf is a decent actor. Megan Fox is INSANELY hot. The special effects are cool. The storyline is rediculous but easily follow-able. Eye candy, not mind candy. | | I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland. -- Woody Allen

| Let me first say I don't like musicals. The last one I saw was Mama Mia, and of course I got roped into seeing the film version today. I don't know where I was in the 70's but I missed the ABBA phenomenon and didn't hear of them until the 80's. So, most of the music I was unfamiliar with except for Dancing Queen. (Where in the world can you go and say you never heard of it?)
My wife said that she read the Meryl Streep was too old for the part. And my answer was no, she's the right age, it's the daughter who's too young by about 10 years, if you want to be historically accurate. Since I look at things from a film perspective, I have to admit, the lighting on the sound stages was really good. Beautiful white and golden hues. The location shots were typical Greek island scenes of swarthy looking people with black hair and olive trees in the background with lots of rocks and blue water. The film is a complete chick flick and doesn't try to hide it and if anything celebrates it. There's a scene where the older gals are singing with props, such as a dildo and tampoon and lots of writing on the floor. The men meanwhile stand around like stage props. The good news is that it went fast and some of the tunes were catchy.
I thought it was interesting that Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were the producers of the film (Playtone). You may or may not remember that they were also the producers of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. | | | TN posted on Cellartracker"

| No Reservations - on cable. My memory was that when this was released it was billed as a romantic comedy. It really isn't although it turns out with a happy ending. It's pretty much the same plot as Raising Helen (which also stars Abigail Breslin in both movies [talk about getting typecast when you're only 10 years old] with Catherine Zeta Jones (who looks great) playing an uptight chef who doesn't have a life outside of cooking. The film never gets any traction and seems emotionally flat. Great supporting cast with Bob Balaban and Patricia Clarkson. | | | TN posted on Cellartracker"

Please post your thoughts. I would go, but can't. Don't get too depressed! If you read Agora Financial's 5 Minute Forecast then you've probably already heard a lot of what they spoke about in the documentary. The panel discussions with Buffet, Pete Peterson, David Walker, William Niskanen and Bill Novelli was interesting. They all are very passionate about how to fix the problems, but they definitely did not always agree. Buffet was by far the most upbeat, and really didn't think there was any big problem that would not resolve itself with a little effort. Actually kind of surprised me that he was so upbeat on the financial world.
