| Yep. Heard everything that you just mentioned. For now, saw most of the Shows that I wanted to see. Thanks.
Carmen: WOW. Very nice. So different from Broadway. Can't even compare in any way. The stage is amazing. Music/Voices are amazing. There were a couple of parts where it was "slow", but never mind that. The Show is a Killer. If you like that or want to experiment (if you will like something like that), DO IT. See Carmen as your 1st Opera. Not an "easy-going" Show, actually a little draining (3+ hours) & a tough/hard story. But, we loved it. And, actually people mentioned that to us, make sure that you are rested & relaxed.

| Also...Les Miserables, is closing in March. For those that have Not seen it, it is 1 of the best shows. And, currently, the longest running show on Broadway. That's a show that really touches your heart & plays with your emotions. | | | |

| We don't go to NYC as often as we used to but we certainly try to make a show or two each time we do go. We try to make it couple of times a year (though trips to SF tend to push it out recently) Over the years some of my favorites have been Biloxi Blues, Oh Kay!, Joe's Women, Rent, and Les Miz, and . . . (see below)
Several years ago we gave our son a trip to NY with tickets to see the Lion King for his Christmas present. (We went over the next Presidents Day Weekend) I have to agree that it was a wonderful show. He was enthralled (he was 11 at the time) and since we made the whole trip revolve around him, we had a great time. Took the train up and back from DC, took a suite (Manhattan East Suites, I highly recommend them for this type of trip) had Sunday brunch at the Plaza (he wanted to go, got the idea from the Home Alone 2 movie)wandered Times Square, went to FAO Schwartz, went to the village to go to Murrey's Cheese (his favorite) went to a magic shop, etc. Only disappointment was that the museums are colsed on Mondays.
It wasn't a wine and restaurant centered trip at all, but then it didn't have to be because it was for him. I sure do love visiting that city, glad I don't live there since I love living in DC, but do enjoy visiting.

| OK, Jersey-guys. Let's hear your reviews on Mamma Mia! I loved it!!! P.S., Huge ABBA-fan, I am...
dinwiddie: Correct. No city in the world like it to visit/party/go out, but live there. No.

| Loved Mama Mia when I saw it in San Francisco. I'm not sure the lead (the mother) on Broadway is a good as Dee Hoty who did SF. Saw her on the Time Square special and she has the most awkward moves (all elbows). | | | |

| LCC: I too am deeply saddened that Les Miz has closed. I have never seen a show that was more emotionally moving than that one.
ONE DAY MORE!!! | | | |

| Did anyone happen to see 'The Full Monty' when it was on Broadway? I believe it ended its run in 2002. Anyway, it's now in Cincy and I'm thinking about taking my folks to see it while they're in town this weekend.
TIA. | | | |

| Curtains are coming down on it on Broadway. Not sure of the exact date, but I believe by the end of the month. | | | |
