| My kids have just dragged me into 1995 by buying me a Palm organizer (I still do not have a pager or cell phone). So I am the proud owner of the PalmOne Zire72.
So I figure the first thing I want to do is download the stuff Parker has for the Palm.
Going to their download page all I can find are scores/notes on Bordeaux. Is that all there is?
What I want is CA. wines, Oz wines and Burgundy. Bordeaux is the last thing on my mind these days. The occasional times I purchase a Bordeaux I can research that ahead of time. But what I want to buy is the others.
If you use your Palm for the Parker stuff do you have any hints/suggestions for me?

| | The biggest download contains all of Parkers reviews. You will need an extra memory card in order to use them. The reviews are not limited to Bordeaux, they were just listing the latest update, the Bordeaux issue. I find the Parker on The Palm very useful and only wish WS and Tanzer would do the same. I also have the Wine Enthusiast installed but really only use it to keep my cellar info on a palm. | | | |

| Landshark,
Thanks. That explaines it. I bought a 256mb card so I have plenty of room. Off to the download page...

| | Nope. Missed that. A Palm has an operating system specific to that device. The Dell Axim runs Pocket PC, a scaled down version of Windows if you will. If Parker on the Palm requires Palm OS then you'll have to Google for a Palm PDA to find current pricing. | | Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| | At this point Parker is only available for the Palm OS. A windows version(capable of being used by a pocket pc such as Dell) is said to be in the works. | | | |

| Man this thing is slick. I love it!
I got a PalmOne Zire 72 with a color screen. It was $269 at Frys. palm web page Zire 72
I also bought a bluetooth for downloading from my PC...$38. And today a 128mb memory card for $70...
Total in "hardware" = $377.
You need a subscription to ebob; IIRC $50 a year. Then a supplement for the Palm database @ $30 a year.
So it ain't exactly cheap but man you got all the ratings and all the notes right there in the "palm" of your hand with a calendar, adress book, and a bunch of other stuff that comes with the Palm there also.
I've been a subscriber to the RP Wine Advocate for many years. When ebob came out I signed up for that too. At the present time one needs to really subscribe to both. You get the info in the printed WA when it is mailed and then a month later or so it is updated on ebob. Every wine I buy I catalog the score and drink-when info. It won't be too long before ebob will be updated on the same date the WA is mailed. I will then drop my WA subscription and get everything off of ebob. And now with my handy-dandy little miracle I have it with me in my shirt pocket everywhere I go.
Amazing! | | | |

| Just got my husband the Palm Tungsten T3. Amazon had the best price. $337.24.
Do you know if we need a Bluetooth card? My husband's Lexus has Bluetooth. Can these work together?
Do you need to subscribe to Parker to get the ratings? What do you subscribe to?

| | No, the t3 has Bluetooth built in, but you will want a memory card to store the reviews. They take up almost 33 Megs. No, but it is cheaper and better for upgrades if you subscribe. | | | |

| I think you can subscribe to the Palm section only for $50... or if you are a subscriber it is "only" $30 additional.
Look at it this way. If you do want to subscribe to the Palm stuff you can get WA for only $30 more
