| | This past Saturday my girlfriend, a friend of hers and myself met Perky, (from the WS Forums) and her husband for lunch at W.A. Frost in Saint Paul Minnesota. We were seated outside in the patio but we didn’t last long because of the killer bees, so we were moved into a great room inside. The wine list at WAF is extensive and very well priced, probably the best priced list I’ve seen. Riedel glasses we used. Perky had already ordered a 1997 Etude Cab. which was resting in a decanter. I then ordered a 1998 Martinelli Jackass Hill Zin, and a 2001 Marquis Philips 9. We decided to order a cheese plate to start with, the cheeses were Brillat-Savarin, Manchego, Van Gough Gouda, and Capricious. We then all ordered appetizers to share, they included Marinated Mediterranean Olives, Coriander Dusted Duck Tenders, Olive Oil Cured Tomato Pizza, Artichoke and Spinach Dip, and Wild Maine Blue Mussels. As entrees we had, Marinated Grilled Flat Iron Steak Sandwich, a Proscuitto, and a Fontina Cheese and Arugula Sandwich. All of the food was great, the service was excellent. We had finished our meal but where still wanting more wine so I ordered a 1992 Ferrari Carano Reserve Cab., unfortunately they didn’t have it so I ordered a 2000 Falesco Montiano, Lazio instead. It was extremely tight and didnt improve much with time. The conversation during lunch was great, there was never a dull moment. We looked at the time it was already 3:30, I know we could have stayed for a two more hours but Perky had to go home to the kids. Many thanks to Perky for setting up lunch and for paying more than their share of the bill. After Perky left my GF, her friend and I went to the bar for a cigar and a drink. I had a glass of 77 Grahams VP, which went well with my cigar. Over all the lunch was the highlight of my trip. Minnesota isn’t so boring like I thought it would be. I told Perky about VC and she is going to come over... | | | |

Personally, although I have tried a few killer beers, none of them has caused me to move inside! | | | |
