  • 1992 Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District (5/2/2008)
    Still has loads of tannins to resolve but the fruit and structure promise that someday(?) this wine is going to be great. If I owned another, I'd hold 5 more years. Brambly dark fruits, tobacco, cedar, licorice, wood smoke. 92 points now but could be a couple higher on its 30th birthday. (92 pts.)

Interesting. I find the '90 - '93 Togni's to be in a pretty good drinking window. Looking to do a Togni vertical dinner soon - will probably cut it off at '97.

We weren't able to decant prior... I'm thinking about 2 hours in the decanter would be right.
