Any recommendations on a place to drink some good wine in Vegas?   I know of the wine tower at the Mandalay.  Any other collective wisdom?

Food availability not a pre-requisite!

Lotus of Siam is always a good place:

You didn't specify buying or bringing.

The Wine Bar at the Rio used to be a nice place. However, the last time I was there, they allowed cigar smoking

Ditto with the cigars at Napoleon's Champagne Bar, Paris Hotel and Casino.

Pinot Brasserie at the Venetian has no corkage. Food isn't that special. But if you drink a lot of wine, you don't care

There is a wine bar at 55 Degrees Wine at Mandalay, but they weren't serving anything of interest when I was there.

J1immy - There is a pretty good recent thread about Vegas in the Travel and Dining section.  Enjoy your trip as there is lots to do.  I'm going there in July.

J1immy,

As a local, there is no place on the strip I go to just to drink wine. Any place on the strip/casino related place is going to have a huge mark up on their wine prices. Whenever we dine out, we usually BYOB.
There are places off the strip, such as Lotus of Siam and Marche Bacchus that have a good selection of wines at resonable prices.

I'm usually in Vegas a couple times a year and LOS and marche Bacchus are two of my favorite spots.  Hit up Marche Bacchus for lunch (and some wine shopping) and LOS for dinner.

Thanks all, really appreciate it!

Very familiar with the deadly markup so this information is very helpful.  Thanks for the link in the other thread!   Don't often go in that forum.

I'll report back if I run into anything new.

Going to Vegas in June for 3 nights. Winetex, thanks for that link - it was most helpful.

Our local food critic, who I have found to be reliable and accurate has a new website.

http://www.eatinglv.com/

I think it will be a useful tool.
