Opened and decanted for about 7+ hours yesterday.  Beautiful purple-ruby, quite deep for a Chateauneuf.  When I decanted I knew this one was a winner, as I poured some really nice aromas of fruit and herbs filled the air.  On first pour in the evening the aromas were initially full of jammy, red fruit (raspberry, black cherry).  As it settled in glass the complexity began to show with additional notes of provencal herbs, stones, and damp Autumn leaves, even a hint of bitter cocoa nibs.
Medium to full bodied.  Modern styled for a Chateaunuef, yet retains traditional bones...I say that because the tannins are so sleek and refined for such a big wine - yet it appears to have the stuffing to age for many years.  Just a great glass, my wife loved it too.  Kept gaining complexity throughout the evening.  Glad I have 5 more bottles.
