A tasty bottle of wine consumed with Peking Duck:

  • 2005 Domaine Jean-Marc Pavelot Savigny-lès-Beaune - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune (5/18/2008)
Punchy aromas of red cherries, with a minerally core that comes out to the forefront on day 2 of the bottle. Medium bodied with a good sappy backbone of cherries, with a fleshy rusticity that pokes out a bit on the finish. Enjoyable now but should age nicely for a few years. (88 pts.)
