2002 Paloma Merlot - USA, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District (8/20/2006) Succulent nose of red fruit and dust. The palate opens to broad flavors of cassis, blackberry jam, orange zest, cola. Finishes fairly long with more delicious fruit. Med-full bodied. Decanted 1.5 hr. Very nicely done. 2002 Paloma Merlot - USA, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District (3/20/2008) WIML92,PURPLE93 Tasted March 20, 2008. Opened and served immediately. Really good from the get go. Dark garnet color in the glass with a lovely vibrant hue. Attractive fruity nose of plums and berries. Solid, fruity flavors of plums, currants and berries. Medium acidity, tannins and body. Clean on the palate and nicely balanced. Drink now or over the short to medium term if you'd prefer. (92 pts.)
