Recently I ordered one of these kitchen mats after seeing an ad in Bon Appetit.  I have marble tile in my kitchen and find that when cooking and/or doing dishes for long periods of time my feet and legs were getting tired.

I thought the mat might look cheesy but was surprised to find that it really looks like braided leather, is easy to clean and does the job of cushioning the floor.  Note:  stiletto heels are a no-no on this mat.Â

Not inexpensive but should last a long time.  I'm going to order another one because I like the first one so much.

No affiliation just a satisfied customer.

Which one did you get? Standard or double?

They are both the same thickness. The single is 20" x 36" and the double 20" x 72". I would guess what you should order depends on what you need.

I bought the standard in the Coquina color (taupe) and will buy another one. The double looks pretty long for my kitchen.

That's what I was wondering.  Having been in your kitchen and comparing it to my size wise I'm thinking the double would be too big.  Are you putting it in front of your stove top or sink?  I ask because I'm thinking it might be cool to have two singles, one in front of each but I'm not sure how well it would work in front of a greasy stove top area.

I have the mat in front of my sink because I tend to chop stuff into the disposal and do dishes there. I'm going to put the additional mat by the stove. The clean-up is easy, no grooves to catch grime and just an easy wipe-down with a damp cloth. I just 409d it for grease as a test with no problem.

I'm getting one...I want to be gel 'n. I'm tired of being ALL AdVIL because of the long hours on my feet.

Winetex, I just wanted to thank you for making me a hero. I got one of these mats for my wife for our kitchen for Christmas (among many other gifts of course!) and she loves it. Not only does she use it all the time, she thinks I rock because I was so thoughtful and so on. THANKS for the tip!

You are very welcome, it's good to be a hero. I bought another one so I now have one for by the sink and another by the stove. They look great and help the fatigue while making a loooong dinner.
