- 2004 Château Smith Haut Lafitte - France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan (12/12/2007)
Delicious bottle of wine - initially very reductive aromas upon opening, which disappeared with about 30 minutes of air in a wide decanter. Flavors of dark fruits give the wine a very seductive cloak that highlight the wine's velvety texture at the moment. The Graves character of minerals and earth presently lurk underneath the fruit, but it is there in good quantity. An outstanding bottle of wine that is accessible right now and undeniably a great value for $40. (92 pts.)
