| | So I'm really new to this. I know I like sweet wines like Sangria and such. Are there any other wines that are just as sweet? | | | |

| OK, I'll bite. In France, there is a tradition that children are first introduced to wine with a "nice little Barsac". Indeed, that is how I started, and my family is not even French! But it has been a wonderful 30 years since learning about wine. A whole new world is about to be opened up to you...
My first was a 1976 Chateau Doisy Daene from France. It's not the most common wine, but it was affordable. If you go to a wine merchant, ask them for a half bottle of Sauternes or Barsac (from France, of course from a recent vintage). You can still get them for $20 or less. Not something to drink a lot of, but try a glass and see if you like it.
Dry wines can still be "fruity", so don't miss the opportunity to try a chardonnay (from California). Red wines tend to be an "acquired taste", but do what your budget will allow. A good wine store owner (wine merchant), will be able to guide you to a few things to try based on your taste.
I.e. I don't know if they bottle "Sangria", but usually it is a mixture of red wine and fruit juice, so this will be more of a wine cocktail than Wine. I think that is more in the realm of epicurious.com than a "wine blog". Anyone else have thoughts?

| I would try the following to wet your toes:
Whites Kabinett level German Riesling Moscato d'Asti (sparkling)
Red Fracchia Voulet Malvasia di Casorzo d'Asti (also sparkling, kind of like a red moscato d'asti)
