Grapevine Clean Plant Workshop
June 20
The California Grapevine Registration and Certification program is undergoing a review. These regulations serve both California grape nurseries and grape growers. This workshop has been organized to introduce attendees to some of the technical issues which will need to be considered as the revised regulations are developed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture. Lectures will include speakers from UC Davis who are currently working to improve the California R&C program.

Topics in Wine Analysis: Color and Tanin Measurement

Compare different spectrophotometric methods and wet chemical methods for measuring total phenols and tannins. These analyses are useful in determining astringency, color extraction, co-pigmentation and stable pigment in red wines, and browning in white and red wines. I've taken a bunch of these, not so many that Jan Garrod won't talk to me, but a good handful, they are very good. I wish the Marketing course could be broken up into sections like the vineyard management courses.
