| | I have heard and read this term in describing a wine's appearance, but I still have no idea what it means. What is it? How does it develop? Is it good? Bad? Does it matter? | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| It is a sign of development in a wine. Basically, the color of the wine from the core (center) to the rim will begin to look brick red in appearance and get progressively lighter as you get closer to the rim. If the wine is young, it may be a sign of improper storage or oxidation. If it is an older wine, it is a natural occurance. As you know, when a wine matures, it tends to take on more leather, earthy notes.

| ojeffso--
It was kind of an experiment. I knew I'd get an answer here, but I wanted to see if I'd get an answer over there, too. I did, but it look 3 times as long. Usually, some questions can go unanswered. Here, I know all of my questions will get answered. Not only will they get answered, but they'll be promptly given and I know that they'll be correctly answered. | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| Another definition; when you drop a bottle on the brick floor. If it doesn't bounce it is called bricking!
Sorry. | | | |
