This program is anything but easy! I'd bet there isn't a single person on this board that could pass the written part of the test. And all they do is throw foul balls at you while you are doing the serving test. | | | |

| What I was trying to get at was are you planning on taking the intro for the MS or some other program? Their are no 1st or 2nd level Somms. in the MS program. You are either an MS, or you are just in the program.
If the Intro for the MS is the test you were planning on taking, focus your studies mainly on Bordeaux, Burgundy and Italy. Study other classical regions of France, as well as a general knowledge of Spain. You do not need to focus on much of the New World, just be generally familiar with CA winegrowing regions etc. Get yourself a copy of The Wine Atlas and The Oxford Comapanion to Wine. Also check out the MS site. | | | |

Sorry it took me so long to respond...
I decided to go with the Court of Master Sommeliers. The remaining exams for '05 are full, so it looks like I have to wait until next year. I'm hoping they will have one in Napa again - take the exam and celebrate for a day or two or five! | | | |
