| Would love to do this but now doubt I can get away for a weekend in May...depends on when the snow melts, etc.
Also, suffered a set back here when The World's Greatest Enabler fell, cracked 3 ribs, developed a pneumothorax (punctured lung) and is currently in the hospital with chest tube and morphine drip in place. 
Praying for speedy healing and no complications. | |

| Chuck at Wine Society on Amherst Street in Nashua, NH and his store in Tyngsboro, MA (Near the Pheasant Lane Mall) does a few seminars every month.
He has a very dry sense of humor (no pun intended ), but provides some interesting information. He runs a 6 week course that seems very in depth. | |

I've dealt with Chuck off and on for a few years and he really is knowledgible. My only caution would be that I hope he runs his classes better than he tries to sell wine. Always the same tired old stuff sitting in the racks that the majority of I've never even heard of. They push this "wine club" membership that gives you 15% off but they jack up the prices to more than make up for it. Once I struck up a conversation with his Tyngsboro store manager and realized this guy is more into beer than wine.
As I mentioned before, Chuck himself is quite informed but check out the course details to make sure he's not trying to just structure around trying move his lame inventory. And for heavens sake, don't join the club, it's a waste of money. | | | |

I know I probably came across as trashing the guy but stores like that really irk me. The owner is really into wine and is a retired engineer who is just following his passion as a second career, who can't envy him for that? It's just the whole way they try to glorify all this mediocre wine he carries at jacked prices that gets to me. OK, end of rant, back to normally scheduled programming. | | | |

| Interesting points Rigga. Granted an '02 Caymus regular cab for $80 was a rip off, but I felt the '02 Turnbull for $37 and '02 Ramey Claret for $35 were within the right ball-park. I agree that its not the shop for the well-knowledged, but it serves it purpose. I took his intro class that I thought was interesting to get the basics.
I've only really walked through the stores as of late, although I was a member about 5 years ago prior to knowing better about quality wines and sites like this. | |
