I have been reading Matt Kramer's new book "New California Wine, Making Sense of Napa Valley, Sonoma, Central Coast, and Beyond." I am enjoying the read, but for someone who lives in flat old Illinois, I would find it helpful to have some sort of map of the various AVAs he is describing. I think I would also like to see, not only the AVA in relation to California, but the wineries and vineyards associated within them. Does anyone know of a good set of maps, books or other sources to help with the reading?

There are Napa and Sonoma appellation maps here:

Bergman Vineyards. Looks like the maps may be a bit dated, but you can select some real estate to buy while at this realtor's site.

Good maps can be purchased here...Vestra

They aren't cheap, but they are nice.

That is a good read. I read that while on my honeymoon. Yes she knows, because she was reading "Making Sense of Wine" by Kramer at the same time. Also another recommended read.
