Here's what GolfZinNut said to start off the recap--

Quote:

I've taken hostages -- as we sit here, I've got Dogue de Bordeaux, Pour Que, Thomas Jaehnigen, Mattach hostage at my house. None of them will post again until I allow them to...

TJ is now trashing Revlis, ojeffso, seek, lov_cab_chard, j_b, Bord-O, RawRes....

"they are all hacks" sayeth TJ. "I am the king" sayeth TJ.

So far, we've consumed the following, which might explain TJ's loose lips:

2002 Marquis Philips 9
2002 Possums Shiraz
2001 Clos Mogodor
2001 Sineann old Vines Zin
1998 Shafer Hillside
2001 Cayuse Syrah
2000 Jacob Franklin Petit Sirah
1999 Justin Isosceles
1998 Shafer Red Shoulders Ranch
2001 Martinelli G&L Zin

this is our list to date........

"Well, the world needs ditch-diggers too."

I'll add my comments tomorrow sometime. I am totally wiped out tired now and am gonna hit the sack early. But more comments coming soon!

While I regret some of the perhaps inaccurate quotes I made ( ), I have to plead the fifth. I cannot claim responsibility for my actions. Besides it was GZN who pulled out that G&L Zin with the chocolate cake.

Seriously, I had a great time with GZN (thank you for hosting and it was great to meet you, your wife and child!), Ddb (dude, thanks for carting me around!), mattach (nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by the booth the next day!) and PourQue (dude, nice to meet ya!). It was a fantastic evening with some great wines. GZN was chefing and he did a great job, the dinner was wonderful, the wine was great and the company was superb.

I **DO** still have the sheet of paper that I took the tasting notes on. I'll post those in the proper places shortly and link back to them here. I think some of the descriptors are hilarious and we'll see what the rest of the VC folks think.

Thanks again to all of ya.

TJ - can't wait to see 'em. All I remember is something about spicebox and then things got fuzzy.

I finally have entered the TNs, for what they are worth, here on Vinocellar. They are our collective TN descriptors of the evening, but the point ratings are mine. Some of these I need help on making sure I dropped them in to the correct categories within the TN sections. Also, the Possums Vineyard vintage escapes me and I am certainly not sure if I posted that in the right place or not.

All in all this was a great evening and it was fun to meet everyone. I hope to see everyone I met there in Atlanta again some day.

So, here are the TN links--

1999 Justin Isosceles

2000 Cayuse Syrah

2000 Jacob Franklin Petite Sirah

2001 Sineann Old Vines Zinfandel

2001 Clos Mogador

2001 Martinelli G&L Zinfandel

2001(?) M-P Shiraz 9

1998 Shafer Hillside Select Cabernet

???? Possums Vineyard

There was also a 1998 Shafer Chardonnay that was a brilliant yellow gold and it was quite delicious, but I wasn't capturing TNs at that moment.

Let me also say it was a pleasure to meet Mrs. GolfZinNut and Baby GolfZinNut, too. I hope we did not get too loud as the evening wore on...
