Once a post has been viewed, it usually disappears. Nope. This is the 2nd or 3rd sojourn through VC lately where the viewed posts don't clear.

Oh well...

This can happen if you have VC up in 2 browser sessions, and you switch sessions. For example, if I leave VC up at home, and post from work, when I return home, my 'read post' indicators didn't clear. Jugs is right. Logging off and back on usually clears this up.

I have just the opposite problem although I assume it is just the way it works.

If I have to quite somewhere halfway through reading/posting in one catagory and I shut down the browser, when I return all the threads that I didn't read in that catagory are marked as if I had read them.

Does that make sense? In other words I leave while I am in the middle of a session with threads marked as "not read" and when I return the threads are not marked at all.

davidn.. yep. I've experienced that too. It looks like once you enter a particular forum, the software assumes that you're going to read everything. As a result, I never shut down my browser while I'm in the middle of a particular forum, otherwise, I miss reading some (potentially valuable) posts.

This is why I carefully and intentionally do NOT open a forum section unless I know I have time to read it all.
