Hey Rev-- I was trying to update my avatar to something new, and I can change it back to my old Klingon, or other on the web picture, but I cannot seem to load up one to replace my current vinocellar hosted picture. Any weirdness on your end or is it just me?

I want to change my avatar picture thingie (which is currently Gus, my cat). I can change back to a web based URL pic (like my Klingon pal, Worf), but I cannot seem to upload a new picture. I browse to the picture on my system and I hit 'submit' and it brings me back to 'My Home' but it never changes the picture. Does it take a while?

18.jpg is the old one? What's the new filename so I can check for it?

I think it is 18.jpg, yes. But when I try to change it, it stays 18.jpg. Weird. Maybe it just takes time to implement? I'll try it again right now.

OK. I just changed it. I deleted the line that showed the URL as vinocellar...18.jpg and browsed to the image on my system and hit the submit button.

And?

Nuttin.

Still the same old Gus. When it is supposed to be Conon (ie the one sitting on his throne with a troubled brow, etc (Ahnold in Pumped up form))

Howdy - I'm having the same problem. I've tried to upload a few different photos for my avatar and... nuttin. Same old poodle.

Any hints? I think the file size is OK.

This happened to me the other night. I simply waited a little bit and tried it again. It eventually took.

Me too. I changed my avatar late at night and by morning the change had finally been processed.

How do you change the file size to a photo so it can upload? (computer illiterate question)

Generally you have to load it into a program and save it as a different format. If you have the photo on your computer screen look around for an option like "File - Save As" and check the file types available to you at the bottom of the screen. If you have JPEG (JPG) format available it works for uploading 99% of the time.

There is a max file size of 80 pixels by 80 pixels.

You should be able to bring up your photo in any picture editor and resize the image.

If you have trouble, email me the file.

My images are always bigger than the 80x80 and it just crams it in there on its own I think.

It does look like it'll resize... if it's under 40k to begin with. Interesting.
