Whenever I log on, the first thing I usually do is hit the Active Topics button.  But for the last few days it hasn't been bringing up anything, even though I can see that there have been posts since I last logged on. 

When you click "Active Topics" a new dropdown appears.... You can choose the time period for what's considered "active"

Also, try using the "Not Read" link as well.

The default period for "Active Topics" is too short. You might want to increase it the last hour or something like that.

I "think" the default is not a period of time. Rather, it tracks the last time you've visited each forum, and will only show topics that have been active in those forums since your last visit to them.

Once you've visited the forum again, and there are no new posts, it won't be considered "active" anymore because nothing has happened since you've last visited.

So "Active Topics" is really "Active Topics since you've last visited each forum"
