| I'll be updating this thread (and making it sticky) with tips and tricks on things to help out with the new forums. I know it's a big change from what you are all used to, but as the next few days go by, you'll notice some changes that I think will help things out, so thanks for your patience!!
Updating your Profile information (such as display name and time zone)
Once logged in, your name should be in the upper right hand corner. Click on it!  Now you can edit and update your Display Name. This will be the name that shows up in the forums.
If you can't find your name in the upper right hand corner, there may be a (-) symbol just to the left of the "Logout" button. Try clicking on that and then updating your information.
If you still have trouble finding the link for your name and profile, go ahead and use the feedback form on the "Home" page and let me know. Please remember to send me your username!
Jump to the first unread post
By default, the system will not move you to the first unread post in a thread. However, you can change this setting. Log in to Vinocellar, click on the Forums tab, then click on "My Profile" in the Forums window. Here, click "Edit Profile" and put a checkmark next to "Jump to First Unread post"
Mark All Posts as Read
At the end of each forum page is an option to "Mark All Read."Â Click this link so the new posts tracking will start working for you.
Everyone feel free to put their tips in here as well... and/or suggestions! | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... |

| Why do some people have their real names on the boards now? And some don't?
Will we have an unread post counter?

| This thread, for some reason, doesn't show up when I look at the Everything About Wine forum listing. But it does show up when I look at the top-level forum list, in the Most Recent Post column. | | | |

| Just click on your name in the upper right hand corner. If it's not there, let me know. I'll fix your account. | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| Have we lost the ability to edit posts? another big problem because my posts are messy if I'm in a hurry and I usually edit them. | | | |

| i went through and clicked on "mark as read" on every thread through "australian tasting notes" and then all of a sudden i was logged out. i started over and now little sparks are appearing on forums that haven't been posted to in weeks even though i just went there and "marked it as read" even within the same log in period.... uggg.

| I've updated people's accounts who didn't have a FirstName, LastName, or DisplayName... Now they won't have the issues of not being able to click on their name (which will read as "FirstN LastN") in the upper right hand corner. | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| Brad, there is lots of user functionality missing in the new forum software. We've been noting these points in in the feedback section. There is definitely a period of adjustment but overall the site should be more functional, not less. I realize you can continue to implement things but I think people will post less because it's such a hassle to even get logged on and stay logged on. Any chance of rolling back to the old forum software while the bugs get worked out? | | | |

| Ok.. well I just figured this one out myself. When viewing "Active Topics" a drop down appears on the upper right hand side of the forums in which you can tell it how far back to go for Active Topics. | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |
