Would it be possible to get things configured so there are more subjects on a page? This is especially needed on the "100% Wine rated discussions - No exceptions" subject. There three of the subjects are nailed to the top and everything else gets pushed below them. Thus there is only room for 7 subjects we can post to and if there are more than this active the others get pushed to the second page (and if you've ever seen a study on how people navigate a web site the second pages views fall through the floor). I would think that 20 to 30 would be a good number to expand to.

Hmmmm. I see about 25 or more:

1. How BIG is your Monitor?
b. What Resolution are you using?

skwid -

this is user configurable. Go to My Home, and then select:

"Display preferences, number of shown threads, languages, colors... "

many choices for you there.

1). My monitor is 20"
2). 1152X900

Is this a setting for each user with a default of 10?

Thanks EW.

Perhaps we'll think about changing the default. As a programmer, I need to think about the resolution the majority of the people use. It's been 640x480, then 800x600, but now it's starting to move to 1024x768 finally. But those that aren't yet it's a big deal. *thinks*

Eric, I just found that. I think the default should be increased from 10 to 20 or 25 so one isn't required to figure out what to change. There seem to be two numbers it could be:

Total parent posts to show per page: (default is 10)
Total posts to show on one page when viewing a post in flat mode (default is 10)

Should I change both?

Right now I run 20 posts per page and I find that satisfactory for me.

Yes. Change both to display more. For instance:

Total posts to show on one page when viewing a post in flat mode (default is 10)--- I use 25.

Total parent posts to show per page: (default is 10) --- I use 25.

…And, of course, other things that you can change.

P.S.: 20inch Monitor & that resolution is Fine. I actually have a 17inch.

Thanks skwid for poiinting this out and thanks Eric for providing the fix. Seems to me that the default should be more. I set it to 25 and I think I may increase it to more. I find that it is much easier to scroll down than to go to the next sheet.

When I went to the WS Forum today (see thread on keeping out jerks), I noticed how nice it was to scroll down the page to see more subject than going to the next page/sheet.
