| This site is overall outstanding,... but not without flaws.
This continues to be the least user friendly search site I have used, even with search tips.
Perhaps at some point, catalogueing the wines and a more sensible search program would make finding posts on certqin wineries and wines more readily achievable | | |

| Hey Dr. T, do you mean perhaps fixing the TN headers to a more standard grammatical structure? I'd agree with that. No small undertaking, though, to fix what is out there. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| Even with the instructions Eric the White posted I find the search function cumbersom.
I want to search for "2001 Sea Smoke"; I getevery 2001 wine posted.
I search for "Sea Smoke" and I get--
---It's apparently the mailerseason, this week I sent in my orders for:Harlan, Turley, Martinelli, Neyers, DuMOL, Worthy, Peter Michael. ---Byron Santa Maria- surpringly decent for the $20 price tag. A baby Brosseau with cherry and cranberry with some spice and earthiness.
---Double decanted for about 30 minutes; served with asmoked, spicy pork tenderloin
---2001 Château Saint-Cosme Gigondas Valbelle... Lots of woodsmoke and black pepper in this wine

| Use "sea smoke" (with the quotes) to search for that phrase. Another method to remove many of the spurious hits is to enter "+sea +smoke" (without the quotes) to find posts containing both words. It also seems to only find words, not fragments (ie, sea but not sear). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to like combined searches like: +2001 +"sea smoke"

| Dr. T, Perhaps you can give some examples of how you are using search. I tend to find Search extremely easy to use. The guesswork comes out of how the person posted the subject... sometimes people put '01 and sometimes 2001. So for Sea Smoke, I search for (with the quotes) "2001 Sea Smoke" and check only in subject, and I get only 2001 Sea Smoke BOTELLA Pinot Noir posts. If I add "in subject and body" every post listed I was able to find the phrase "01 Sea Smoke" If I don't use the quotes.... yes... all hell breaks loose!! :-) USE THE QUOTES to SEARCH FOR A PHRASE. Let me know if you still have trouble. Regards, Brad | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| I've never had a problem with the search function. It seems to me to work very fast compared to other sites I frequent. | | | |

I wish there was a way for some appointed person or persons to go through the TNs and fix things to be more standardized. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| The QUOTATION MARK is you friend it appears. I would think if you just put down "01" without the apostrophe it would show "'01" as well as "2001". | | | |

Sure, Pops. But if you try that with "99", you get possibly many wines entered with the full four digit year code, thus 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, etc wines will show up in your search. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |
