If you are going to have a forum dedicated solely to a German wine critic, perhaps it's time to break the German TNs out of European Other and given them their own thread?

In light of the 2002 vintage reputedly being as good as the 2001, are you going to rethink setting up a separate German Forum? Personally I don't really care since I am not into German wines, but plenty of folks are, and they seem to dominate the threads they occupy now.

I noticed that there are at least as many German wine topics as Burgundy. I'm biased, but with global warming, I think German wines are on the rise (they grow in some of the coldest northern areas in the world).

... And if the Internet, or this board, are running out of space , we could consolidate "Port" and "Dessert Wines", or any one of the other relatively-underutilized sections. How about "Pacific Northwest" rather than WA and OR having their own separate areas?

Considering that Spain and Germany are two of the hottest (and arguably most interesting) wine areas in the world, it seems odd to me that they are still relegated to the same section of the forum as British Pinot Noir.
Cheers, y'all

Maybe add it as a combined, Germany & Spain TN forum.

Just curious, is there a reason, other than for purely organizational purposes, to have 4 "TN Category Headers" that are then further subdivided by main threads? Would it make more sense to have one TN header, with all of the main threads listed within it? It would make more sense (to me) to do so if you implement stemor's suggestions of merging some other categories together. This way, some of the 'other wine' TN sections could be merged together as one -- like Other North American wine, Other European wine, and Other World wine could all be merged together, potentially.

I am asking just purely for discussion purposes, not necessarily saying we ought to change things like that. What do the rest of you think???

t's not a big deal, but when I see a lot of new posts on the Europe Others and I see Gastronauta putting up a lot of post on Spanish wines, I feel like we are having a war between Germany and Spain.

I think there's far greater interest/availability when it comes to German wines (as seen in the number of responses rather than different TNs)... I'm a bit of a traitor myself...
