It is time to (re-)visit the idea that we should break South America out of the Worldwide Other board?

I'm open to the idea.... I can put a survey question up... what do you think?

Well if you do a survey be sure and add a question "Would you like to see all of the existing sub-categories rolled up into combined sections?"

Wineismylife has a point. Just my opinion, but coffeegeek.com went & reorged their sections into different categories. At this point @ coffeegeek.com, there are too many sections. It is overwhelming, even when you search because of all the different sections.

I think one South American section is enough, just like one Australian.

so perhaps change the "north america" section to "The Americas" section, and add a "South American - All" TN section?

Brad, when I first joined this board I thought all of the subdivision was cool. Now, after all of this time, I quite frankly think it sucks. If you're a prolific tasting note writer like Jason and myself it's a royal pain in the butt to work with the different sections. If you're a prolific tasting note reader the "reality" of the situation is you're likely honed in on higher level classifications such as North America, South America, France, Italy, Spain, Pacific Rim and such. I've seen this with your competitors (they are your competitors; make no mistakes) such as Wino Depot and WinExiles and I think it works better. By contrast I've seen the "One section fits all" scheme like on Wine Spectator and Squires and it sucks nards big time.

Just my two cents worth.

Not exactly sure what you are trying to say.... many sections are bad, but just one section is bad too? So what's the compromise?

Just seems to me that somewhere in the middle is a bit more friendly while still being functional. Of course the next person in line will immediately disagree with my assessment. You know what they say about opinions.

If it was up to me I'd have only the following sections with no further sub-divisions:

North America
South America
France
Italy
Spain
Germany
Australia & New Zealand
All Others

With a grand total of 203 “Worldwide Other Tns”, I see no reason to break it down further.
