The google ads will be coming back...   I know they aren't the most glorious things... but they do pay at least some of the bills... so I hope they are acceptable.  I know some people have just a natural dislike for ads, in that how dare anyone try to sell them something... Â

but....  its a free site, so the little bit of revenue I can get out of ads helps me out just enough to make it completely possible to not even THINK of trying to charge for anything...Â

So thank you in advance for putting up with the google ads.  Who knows, maybe something will come up that you are interested in...    for every click on an ad, you are clicking for the benefit Vinocellar.

Does anyone know of a way to supress the ads by Google? I used to have them suppressed, but that isn't working anymore. I am using Firefox as my browser. I seem to remember that there is a widget that'll help me out here but I cannot remember the name of it.

lol. No offense taken TJ. Ads will remain about where they are however. The placement is recommended by google to be both visible, but not obtrusive to regular users such as yourself.... because they are not in between posts like so many other forums put them.

Are the ads supposed to be at the top, bottom and the left pane or do I have a nesting issue? Currently, there is a banner ad at the top and bottom (normal) and then a vertical stretch of adwords on the left above "who's online?"

Yep, that's correct. Again.. I hope its ok... I'm not making anywhere near a profit on anything, but it helps. Just bought a new SATA II 250Gb hard drive (to replace the out of warranty drive that was dying) with the ad revenue.

I was going to post that top, bottom and left seems excessive. But I guess I'm getting used to it. I can' t imagine people actually click on them, but if it pays the bills, I'll live with them!

What he said. I'd also like to see the 'Who's Online' stuff moved to the bottom of the screen as well, or remove it entirely and make a button for it if you want to see that (for the same reason) PLEASE????
