I was also thinking that some type of form or set format would be usefull for Tasting Notes

Year
Score
Reviewer
Notes:

The reasdon is that you would be able to make a well structured database frome notes in this style. It would also alow you flexibility in the future. You could possibly incorporate these notes into a searchable data base similar to the one on WS board with the expert ratings, except the reviews would be by us.

You may also be able to monitor multiple reviews on a single wine, and combine them to a single thread.

This would prevent people from posting multiple wines in a single thread - that is a good thing if you ever plan on creating a searchable database from these notes.

Sorry, I should have read this first before posting TN's. I used year, producer, etc. since I saw others using it. I guess I place more emphasis on the vintage that I should, but I just assume that I only buy from the best producers, so vintage becomes more important then.

I use a format for tasting notes that I am used to and have found the most useful for my purposes. I think the way someone formats a tasting note is sort of a personal choice.

I would hate to see less posters post tasting notes due to a rigid format.

There only a few paragraphs at most. I don't see the need for "cookie cutter" notes.

I have to agree with GA. I like the different writing styles of various posters and don't really want to see creativity stifled by a set criteria. But, I do hope that everyone includes the following in there TN's in some shape or form:

The Vintage, Producer, Varietal or Region
The Price
Your View on QPR
Your Rating (if you use the 100 pt method)
Whatever tasting info you wish to include.

What's going on?. I'm agreeing with GA all over the place. We are used to each other's and our own style. Not that there isn't room for improvement or experimentation when you see a good style, but, a few simple basics as per jb are the maximum requirements.
