What Grab Bag wine did you receive?

I got a '99 Clarendon Cab from Jazin. Never had it or any other wine from these guys. I look forward to pulling the cork. This was fun since a lot of people got stuff that they might not usually buy.

I got a 1996 St. Francis Merlot Reserve from Mudpuppy. Weren't these supposed to be under $25 wines? Thanks, Muddy. I really look forward to this wine.

I got a Two Hands Angels Share Shiraz (2001?) from the Most Kewl budman. Dude, I need to let this sucker sit for a while, right? THANKS!!!

I gave a 2001 d'Arenberg Laughing Magpie -- which unfortunately was received by anthonyiez. Unfortunate because I know it does not wow him as I bought two bottles off of him in June to augment the two I already had. Dude, we need to arrange a swapout -- I'll give ya something different that hopefully will be a new experience for you. I had hoped the bottle would have gone to someone who hadn't had it before.... Ah well.

Anyway, I love the Grab Bag idea. It is always fun to share different and interesting wine with your wine-pals.

From Board-O, I received a 2000 Chateau Reynella McLaren Vale Basket Pressed Shiraz. Thank you much. Will probably let it sit for a year, and drink it on the first anniversary of the First Anniversary Dinner. After all, what could be worse than drabbing a wine received from Board-O??

Jimmy, it's good to go now but may very well improve. If you search for tasting notes here and on the WS site, I think you'll find plenty.

i have decided to give it another try after a year or so. see if it mellows out at all.

There's probably a better chance for the wine to mellow out than for the drinker in question!

OK Ant. Let me know what ya think. Maybe have it with some good meat -- duck perhaps?
