Saturday night WineDrinkerofTexas was kind enough to open up his home on a frigid evening in North Dallas to a couple of thirsty and hungry winos. In attendance where WineDrinkerofTexas, GregM, PURPLE and yours truly. Master Chef Ying prepared dinner for the group including an astonishing 10lb bone in leg of lamb. :blink: GregM prepare a wonderful chocolate cheesecake as well. WineDrinkerofTexas, PURPLE and myself did our best to stay out of the way, :lol: instead opting to drink copious amount of wine.

Here are the wines that WineDrinkerofTexas so graciously provided for the evening, along with my very brief notes:

• 2002 J. Rochioli Chardonnay South River Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (2/18/2006)
  WIML91,WA92,NOWS
  Tasted February 18, 2006 at the home of WineDrinkerofTexas. Yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Rich, full bodied nose and palate. Lots of fresh yellow fruits (lemon zest, pineapple, yellow apple, etc...). Tasty wine. Drink now. (91 pts.)
  
• 2004 Frank Family Vineyards Chardonnay - USA, California, Napa Valley (2/18/2006)

  Tasted February 18, 2006 at the home of WineDrinkerofTexas. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Much lighter style than the Rochioli South River consumed prior to this and therefore didn't show quite as well. Simply flavors of yellow apple, pear, etc... Drink now. (88 pts.)
  
• 2003 Pride Mountain Chardonnay - USA, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District (2/18/2006)

  Tasted February 18, 2006 at the home of WineDrinkerofTexas. Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. A little weightier than the Frank Family consumed prior but not as rich and full as the Rochioli South River consumed first. Tropical fruits, apples and pears. Drink now. (88 pts.)
  
• 2003 DuMol Syrah - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (2/18/2006)
  WIML92,WA89-91,WS95
  Tasted February 18, 2005 at the home of WineDrinkerofTexas. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nice nose, almost Aussie Shiraz like, with some coffee, roasted meat, cassis and dark fruits on the nose and palate. Tasty wine. Drink now with an hour in the decanter. Should drink well over the next 5 years or so. (92 pts.)
  
• 2002 Faust Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Napa Valley (2/18/2006)

  Tasted February 18, 2005 at the home of WineDrinkerofTexas. Things are starting to get fuzzy right about here with the 5th bottle of the evening. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nice nose. Good fruit, tannins and acidity. Drink now with an hour in the decanter or hold for a year or two. (90 pts.)
  
• 1999 Turnbull Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Napa Valley, Oakville (2/18/2006)
  WIML89,WA86,WS92
  Tasted February 18, 2005 at the home of WineDrinkerofTexas. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. No other notes. Completely lost it at this point. Not even sure why I'm rating the wine! (89 pts.)
