I learned from DdB that tjaehnigen will be in Atlanta on the week of 3/22/04. We're hosting a small informal dinner party at our Dunwoody home. Hopefully our labrador retriever will antagonize TJ into becoming a "dog person." Target time is around 7:00. If you're interested in joining us, please send a PM. Size of the party will determine the menu.

I'm going to use the event as an excuse to pull a cork in a bottle of 1998 Shafer Hillside.

I am looking forward to this. GZN, I am very appreciative of your hosting this. I mentioned to Ddb that I'd be able to restaurant it as needed since I'd have a per diem to spend. But this will be even more kewl.

Grazie!

PS: Mucho appreciatto to Ddb for carting me to/fro the event, too!

TJ - my pleasure. And I'll second the thanks for GZN, Mrs GZN and baby gzn for hosting.

GZN - when you do you think you will have an idea of the menu? Just curious when I can start thinking about what wine(s) to bring

My bro has a big vanilla Lab named Marshall, aka Marshy, and he's a great dog. But, cats rule.

DdB -- although we probably won't finalize the menu until the weekend before, I can almost promise you that it will include some juicy beef, maybe lamb chops -- so think big reds. I might even forego the grill and cook some cajun food -- think bigger reds!

Excellent! I was thinking of bring something Spanish - perhaps a Numanthia or one of the better Priorats. Should work perfectly.

Yeah, the 2000 Numanthia is definitely either shut down, or well on its way there. Had it in January and it was disappointing compared to when I had it last October.

Hmmmm, makes me think about what to bring though. hmmmm

Thanks TT & TJ. Either of you had the '99 or '01 lately?

Nope, but I am game to try. I think someone mentioned the 2001 is also quite excellent.

Update --

We're probably going to have lamb of some sort -- leg of or chops.

TJ -- where are you going to be staying while you're in town?
