| Well guys, are we going to have one? And if so, where do you want to try? I'm always game to make reservations if you guys are interested.
Suggestions? We had discussed an Italian night, but if TJ pulls off the Lab, that would be our Italian night I would assume (dangerous I know.) Of course after last week's dinner, I'd be more than willing to go back to Gabriel, even if it isn't Restaurant Week.
Obviously we should steer away from the days right around V-Day.

| Not to be contrarian or anything, but I was thinking maybe we could do a wine-crawl sometime. You know, meet someplace and then all pool over to a bunch of the local wine shops in and close in to DC. Some of us go some places and others go other places. It might be fun to see what shops we like and so on. Just an idea. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| Thought you were broke. That could end up costing some serious change. But it would be fun. | | | |

| Budman, I Noticed that two, but judging from his new avantar he's obviously chemically unbalanced. Seriously TJ that picture is freaking me out. | | | "It's better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out, then outside the tent pissing in." -- Lyndon Johnson | |

Well, true. But I don't have to BUY anything, right? I am presently allowed to buy some (cheap) whites and other cellar defenders on an as needed basis. And, seeing as how I presently have no whites (except so stuff that I deem to be 'special'), that means it is needed, now, right?
I'm not broke, just reallocating assets toward house crap. Then again, I missed December and I missed January, maybe I can come out to play soon. We shall see.

| I didn't mean to say you were broke, just broke for purposes of buying good wines. | | | |

| Sorry fellas I'm out for Feb. I'm in the process of buying a house and traveling for much of the month. | | | "It's better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out, then outside the tent pissing in." -- Lyndon Johnson | |

| If you're buying a house, you are going to need some wine to cope. | | | |

| I'm skipping wine and going straight to Burbon for this. I am but I'm also going to need all available cash......The housing market is nuts in Arlington. | | | "It's better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out, then outside the tent pissing in." -- Lyndon Johnson | |

| It's a longish drive (2.5 hours), but I wouldn't mind attending an upcoming DC Cru gathering. Are there appropriate sacrifices to make? On which altar?
I have a friend who lives in Arlington, so I know we have at least some place to stay. It'd be a nice excuse to come up to visit him plus meet some of the folks here. | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/

| You would always be welcome, of course! I have met up with Dr. Tannin in DC, too (he trudges up from Virginia Beach, from time to time). As you can see, we're still working out when the next event will be. Stay tuned, though, dude. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| I did a little checking on the old opentable.com and found several places that have a reservation for Feb. 19 (Thursday after Val. Day) available for 8 people at 7pm. So, some suggestions are:
Corduroy (they have a 7:30 available) Equinox Tosca Ristorante 701 (they have a 7:15 available) Ardeo / Bardeo (as long as it isn't on thier list corkage is $15) Morton's of Chicago - Downtown Olives (they have a 6:30 available) Palette (as long as it isn't on their list) Sesto Senso The Oval Room Circle Bistro
I was going to add The Prime Rib to this list, but their corkage fee is $30 per.
I'm sure there are others, expecially if we pick a Monday or Tuesday.
Thoughts? | | | |

| Din...
I can't comment on all of the restaurants you've come up with as I've only eaten at Olives, which I recall to have been okay but not worth the price...the Oval Room, where I've only been for lunch but have liked the food...and Sesto Senso, which I've been to a number of times and enjoyed but I've not been to in a while.
If you need any assistance in coordinating the event for the 19th of Feb, let me know.

| Don't these events seem to build up a head of steam and get more interest over time? How long to wait to get it rolling, or to postpone until March? I'm particularly game for February 19th as it's the 38th (gulp!) anniversary of my bar mitzvah and I was planning on bringing some of the Manischewitz that I've been laying down for some time, to commemorate the event.... | | | |

| I'm a maybe for February. Between Valentine's Day and our first anniversary (early March for me and my wife), there's gonna be a lot of fine dining going on. Hopefully I'll be able to make it. | | | |
