I will be hosting the best damn super bowl party ever!!!!! Come one, come all.... Everyone is invited... Husbands, wives, babies... (quiet rooms upstairs for them if needed)... dogs.. cats.. whichever.. just so long as you come to enjoy a catered superbowl event.
Date: Feb 1, 2004
Time: Game starts at 6:30, but i want everyone here at 4:30 pm so there is time to relax and enjoy some conversation, eat some food, get the wine going, etc.etc.... get a comfortable seat.. you know the drill. Don't be later than 5pm for the best superbowl experience.
Theme: Whatever wine you think goes best with Burgers.
We will be doing squares on 1st quarter score, halftime, 3rd quarter, and final score. (all sqaures must be full by 6:20pm)
We will be watching this on a big 'ol honkin direct tv enabled LCD rear projection.. there will be plenty of seats... plenty of glasses.... and plenty of fun.
If we run out of wine, my cellar is allowed to be raided. (I didn't say this out loud)
I'm open to wine theme suggestions...
Now all you have to do is reply that you are coming.

| Best damn super bowl party ever, hmmm. A friend was moving several years ago and needed to clear out some wines. Thus was born the "Big Game, Big Guns party. The original party was during the super bowl and featured all the First Growth wines. | | | |

| Damn! We would love to be there, Rev, but we host a Superbowl party every year for the same group of friends. Very little wine will be served at ours, though. It's a bunch of appetizers, deli trays, and great desserts. People can drink whatever they want. The biggest drink will be diet soda. | | | |

| I'm in. Just don't know if I can make it by 5pm. I'll have to work most likely. BTW, this will be our NJ/NY crew official Feb gathering.
The theme???
Best burger wine!!!
Bring your favorite wine for a hamburger. What is the best burger wine? I know Bressler says it is Cal Cab. Maybe it's Aussie Shiraz. Maybe a Cotes du Rhone. Maybe a Zinfandel. Hell, maybe it's a white zinfandel and none of us know it yet. The person bringing the best burger wine will win a prize. Don't quite know what that prize will be just yet, but a prize nonetheless.

| I'll wave at ya'll when they do the flyover for TV. It's not every day the Super Bowl is held six miles from your house. The city is all prettied up for the visitors and the businesses are oh so happy to have all of these people ready to spend $$. My father is actually going to the game. | | | |

| That's very cool Winetex. :-) I'd love to go too, but the alcoholic beverages will be better out east. ;-)
Ok.. Update:
Day: Feb 1
Time: 4:30pm until ? (game starts at 6:30pm, but in my experience, it's definitely better to go early, get some food, get settled.... and then you'll be able to relax while watching all the cool commercials)
Food: Burgers with all the fixins, and other assorted finger foods/snacks/desserts.
Wine: Bring whatever you like to have with burgers. I plan on cooking all the burgers on the grill before the game .... that's why I'd like people there early. We can reheat the burgers for latecomers or they can use the grill to cook up a fresh one.
We will be doing squares on 1st quarter score, halftime, 3rd quarter, and final score. (all sqaures must be full by 6:30pm)
Attendees:
Revlis (maybe some non-wino friends who drink wine, but I'd provide the bottles for them) (5)

| Oooo, mm!!! You're funny! We all know it will be Eagles/Colts. I don't like our chances. But I'll be happy if we get there.
