Why do you keep going out there when I'm NOT there? Clear your schedule with first next time.

That's OK. I forgive you. I just want to be out once at the same time. I hear a big, sizzling steak calling our names.

I've had a couple of drinks at Charlie Palmer's.

smart move Tony. They have a great list at Delmonico's but the prices are insane. Vegas is one of the few places where a $20.00 corkage actually looks reasonable.

$250 for 99 insignia
$400 for 98 HSS

that is more than insane

If you want to go to the newest "hot" place you could try Bradley Ogden in Forum of Caesars. I believe DavidN has been there. He could give you the skinny.

The new Bradley Ogden in Caesar's Form is fantastic. I have been there once and we had at least 14 courses. It took four hours. Each course seemed better than the previous one. It is a great "foodie" place. I think it is OK to BYO but I'm not 100% sure. Their wine list is fairly limited so be sure and ask to see the hotel's list also.

My FAVORITE restaurant in LV is Picasso. They offer two different tasting dinners only but it is great. Wonderful but very expensive wine list. BYO is OK (even BYO stuff on their list) is $50 but you get the crystal glasses along with decanting if you want. Take the bottle to them around 2:00 in the afternoon and they will decant it then so it can have some time to breathe. If you decide to go here PM me and I'll give you someone to call there for reservations (which are sometimes pretty hard to get).

Another steak house that is fun is Palm. It is a chain and the food is just OK but it is a fun place. I order either the veal parmagiana or lobster. The also have lump crab which is special for us west-coasters. Ask for "E.J." and tell him you know that nut from Los Gatos. That and $10 will get you a cup of coffee there.

Another good local restaurant has opened the restaurant at the top of The Palm Hotel (not related to the above Palm restaurant). I can't remember the name but he has had a restaurant down town for many years. The food is first class and the wine list, at least at his other restaurant, is loaded with good wine at fairly reasonable prices.

And then there's that Thai restaurant that everybody raves about. It is a "dump" location but people (including may top reviewers) say it is the best Thai food in the US. It is not my cup of tea (so to speak) and I have not been there. If you have interest in this post and I'll look further in to it.

thanks for the info dave. the only problem with vegas is there are to many good restaurants. for me prime and delmonico are always must stops. also on this trip we a re going to do the rodizio (sp?) style of eating down at rum jungle. that leaves 2 nights and one has to be italian. i was thinking of valentinos for that. so now i am down to one more night so i have to plug something in there. maybe i will give one of those ones at ceasars a try considering i will be right next door.

Its gotta be Billagio or the pyramid one.

In Vegas there is no such thing as "just next door". Next door with the hotels means at least a half mile.

If you are at the pyramid one consider taking the monorail to Mandalay Bay. There you Parker's place (it is in the Four Seasons which is the same building as the Mandalay Bay. That would certainley be easy with the monorail. I think it also goes to NY,NY.

Did you go to the magic show tonight at the Mirage? Yikes!

Roy (the white haired partner in Sigfried and Roy) was mauled by a white tiger that was making its first appearance on stage tonight. He is in the hospital in critical condition.

i have never been to it. i fact the only show i have ever been to was "o" at the bellagio. what a complete wast of money. for me vegas is a bout gambling and eating not about seeing shows.

as a side note i think my friend is in vegas right now and he had tickets to the tiger show. i am trying to get a hold of him to see if he was there.

Chomped on the throat cannot be good. I hope he's ok. And I hope the tiger is not euthanized (just taken out of any situation of performing, etc. JMO.
