I've of course been following the other thread regarding the anniversary dinner. I suppose it's only right that I organize it. Therefore.....

THIS IS THE OFFICIAL SIGN UP LIST FOR THE 4TH ANNUAL VINOCELLAR.COM ANNIVERSARY DINNER.

Where: Somewhere in Sonoma County, CA
When: President's Day Weekend - Feb 17th(Sat) to Feb 19th(Mon)
What: Potentially two main Vinocellar.com dinners. One on Saturday, one on Sunday.
What Else: Seems there are tons of great ideas.... we'll figure these out... some officially, some amongst yourselves I'm sure.

Here is MY to do list as I see it. Help me out with suggestions! I'm going to use all input, and all volunteers wherever possible!

MY TO DO (mostly in order)

- Keep a running sign-up list.
- Once I have approximate head count, find two venues for official VC dinners in Sonoma
- Try to get group discounts at affordable lodging.
- Decide on any types of wine themes for each dinner, and start making a menu with the chef if possible.
- Start figuring out wine selections from everyone's cellar. Decide on free for all style, or more organized style for each dinner.
- Make this a democratic venture where possible, but make the decisions when necessary.

YOUR CURRENT TO DO:

- SIGN UP!!!! :-)
- If you'd like to volunteer for any tasks, just let me know. I'd be glad for the help, but no need to feel obligated of course.

Current Sign-up List as of 12/6/2006 9:54pm EST

Brad Molzen (2) - I look forward to meeting everyone and getting re-acquainted with everyone else!

Best Regards,
Brad

Excellent! I am sooooooo in! Please put us down for two.

I'm also happy to help coordinate things on this end, directly related to the main event or not. Pinot Parade through the RRV anyone?

This could get really interesting

Pet me down for two. I am happy to work on the Hilton this weekend....to at least start breaking ground if nothing else.

I just did the priceline thing again tonight, and it still got me the Hilton in Santa Rosa for $50 plus taxes....grand total $63.52. Pretty damn good deal for the quality and location of the hotel. It's about two minutes from Siduri....if you drive slowly.

I'm checking with the various parties involved (babysitting!) but sign us up.

Come on non-West Coasters - if you book soon the flights will be reasonable on this one.

I'm just curious as what kind of wines were at the last few VC annual events? Mixed?

Also, do most people attend 1 dinner or both?

Great!

R8der, yes it'd be great if you can look into the Hilton pricing. Of course we don't know how many will take advantage of it yet.

Perhaps when everyone signs up, suggest whether you are thinking about staying at the Hilton, and how many rooms your party may need. You won't be held to it, just trying to get a count for R8der to bargain with.

Wines will be what WE want them to be. "WE" = people attending the event. They will be from OUR cellars. We aren't going to go out to purchase anything unless we are trying to fill out a flight or something. Hope to avoid that through different trades or whatever else amongst ourselves.

Current Sign-up List as of 12/7/2006 3:03pm EST

BellaDonna (1)
Brad Molzen (2) - Possibly 1 room at Hilton
DJHombre (1)
hudamang (2)
mountainman (2)

Winetex (2)

Total so far: 12

While all of those are very nice, they are also uber expensive. We have previously stayed at the Vintners Inn and the Farmhouse Inn, but always felt the sting of a 6 pack on the credit card bill afterwards. The price of a single bottle is far more attractive....and the Hilton is just 12-15 minutes away from Westside Road.

Question: Where do I fly into? SFO or OAK. I mapquested both distances to Sonoma and they are about the same.

I am thinking SFO because they have a later flight out on Sunday.
