Post here if you'd like to attend. It'll either be a BYO in NYC or a dinner at my home, depending upon the number of people. So far, I know the Hunters are out. Time is short and, if in a restaurant, a reservation has to be made soon. The definites:

It was a pleasure seeing you and Mrs. TBird again. I'm glad you enjoyed the cheeses. I tried to gather a nice assortment. I think everything went very well except that I overcooked the magret while talking too much. Only one wine was disappointing- the 1996 Veuve Cliquot Vintage Reserve was overshadowed by the cheaper 1998 Jacquart Brut Mosaique. The magnum of 1982 La Chapelle was wonderful and lively. I may be in a minority here, but I thought the 1978 Griotte-Chambertin was the wine of the evening, though possibly equalled by the 2003 Eisrebe. I had everything planned perfectly till BHVineyard opened a couple of his wines too. This guy is producing some very fine Pinot Noirs at fair prices. We never got to the Kracher TBA and the Port. People loved the 2002 Sbragia Chardonnay. We had it before the 2002 Les Preuses which I decanted an hour in advance. I should have know to serve the Chablis before the Sbragia. The 2002 Belle Glos was outstanding as always.

They are also wonderful hosts. When we visited them in Oregon, they went out of their way to spend a lot of time with us and help us go to the right wineries.

Sounds wonderful. Was this the same vintage of the La Chappelle that we had last year in Palm Beach? I think so, but am too lazy to look it up. Happy to see that it showed well, and that as we all thought, we had a off-bottle that night.

Yes, it was the same vintage. I chose that wine because we shared a single bottle with the BHVs, Duke Rileys, and others 2 1/2 years ago in Oregon and everybody loved it then. You have a good memory.

yeah.. that sounds like a great evening... especially the "super cool" people part, athough the wine and food sounded stupendous. with super cool people (i.e. "talking too much") it doesn't matter if you overcook the food or serve the wine in less than perfect order.
