| I'll be in NYC from May 2nd through the 4th. I'm free except Saturday evening (going to a wedding) and was wondering about the attractions. I'll be by myself (so take that into account if you suggest anything). I have noticed that the A's will be in town to take on the yankees so I might try that. Any decent restaurants in NYC? I will have a coat and tie so I can dress up if necessary. | | |

| skwid: Not sure what you mean when you say "attractions"?!? What do you have in-mind? What do you enjoy? What are your plans? Anything that you really want to see/experience?
Restaurants: in what price-ranges. This is the Restaurant-capital of the World... But, I do not have to tell you that. A little more info would help...

| Dr. T, I've been to yankee stadium before. It doesn't scare me at all. I rode the subway both times I've been had no problems, I take BART (SF Bay area's poor substitute for a subway) every day to work so I'm used to public transportation. I'll be staying Midtown so I can just hop on the 4 and get right off at the stadium. | | | |

| LCC, as for attractions, I like to walk around (once did 200 blocks in NYC one day) and visit museums. I also like to eat and drink so I'd like to get some good meals while I am in town. Does not have to be super fancy. Since I'll probably be by myself any restaurant suggestions should take this in to account (i.e. some place that won't treat me like yesterdays trash because I'm a single). I've heard good things about Veritas and there is some place I remember that has a lunch special for about $25 for three courses (La Cirque?). Peter Lugers sounds nice but I'm not really sure about getting there (it is in Brooklyn isn't it?). | | | |

| There's a Peter Lugers in Brooklyn and another in Great Neck. What time do you arrive on Friday and what time are you leaving on Sunday?
I have tickets to a number of Yankee games, but not that weekend.

| Board-o I arrive at 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. However I've been invited to the bachelor party that evening so I'd guess it is taken. However nothing is going on Friday for me (recovering from the bachelor party maybe). I'm guessing that if I go by myself I'll be able to get tickets to the yankees game fairly easily. I had no problem last time even though one of the games was against the Red Sox. Btw, I have no idea where Great Neck is in relation to Manhatten. | | | |

| ttepper and I are in the Great neck area. It's easy to reach by the Long Island Railroad Port Washington branch. There's a Great neck exit and Peter Lugers is 2 miles away. It's possible I could make it on Friday, but I won't know for a while. Friday afternoon at Morrell's is also a possibility. | | | |

| skwid, hook up with Board-o & others if possible. You won't be sorry since it will likely be a blast. If you make it over to the Upper West Side (541 Amsterdam Ave. (Upper West Side), Between 86th and 87th Sts. 212-724-4707) go to BARNEY GREENGRASS. It is a cramped place, but they have incredible orange juice and lox and sturgeon and eggs and a huge menu. It's the kind of quirky place you can, and likely will, see anyone. Plus, they won't treat single diners like crud. A unique experience. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |
