| August is always a difficult month to schedule something for (but I'm willing to attend one if I can) and Aug. 6, is Corkage's dinner. Is it too soon to try to set a date for the September get together? I'm on travel from the 18th thru the 23rd, and have no idea what days we will be traveling for college visits for the boy, but I already am jonesing for another dinner. | | |

| heheh. i was wondering when this post would be made.... Julie and I are up for it (surprise, surprise)... although I doubt there will be much momentum until after the Corkage dinner....
i wonder if we should kick around themes or just have a free for all?

| DW...
Mrs. T and I will be more than happy to attend especially since we weren't able to do the Rhone dinner and dinner at Chez Corkage won't work since we'll be on vacation for a week starting tomorrow.

| Maybe we should have TJ plan this one (with jamietown's assistance) so we will be sure that he will attend. | | | |

Yes, but will he bring a bottle of his own wine and open it?

| I feel like having steaks. Anyone (save for T-Rep) else have a hankering for a good dry-aged bone-in Ribeye? Besides I've got tons of old Cab I want to drink. Oops, I mean Dave's got tons of old Cab I want to drink... Unfortunately I don't have any accounts that are steakhouses - any suggestions from the DC Cru? | | | |

| Mmmmmm. Steak!! I've heard Charlie Palmer Steak waives corkage on domestic wines. Anyone been recently? I've heard decent things about this place.

| I'll need to check with Mrs. Dave, but we may be able to swing a steak event at our house. It would be a Dinner @ Corkage's sort of event, but without the fancy food and the fancy wines. | | | |

| I was at Charlie Palmer's two weeks ago for a dinner with 8 friends- the menu was spectacular, the service fantastic, and the wines were something special-- I brought two and they supplied two- to match the menu. It gets my highest rating. Norm---- I'm out for the 1st and 3d week of Sept. | | | |

| I am tentative to doing something in September at this point. We're a tad busy on the weekends already, but we'd be up for having a reason to go eat out anytime after mid September as we will be kitchenless at that point.
Keep me posted on the developments. ;-) | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| I beleive that Charlie Palmer only waives the corkage for the first two bottles of wine (domestic) but it would be a great place to have another steak and Cab night. | | | |

| Dave, thanks for offering up your house to us - let us know which date works for you. If that doesn't work, then I can plan another offline that falls in the middle of the week (Tues-Thurs) sometime in September. | | | |

| If a steak house is what the Cru decides on, I can always have a fish steak....shouldn't be a problem at all....
Most of September works for us...

| I've checked with Mrs. Dave and arrived at the evening of Saturday September 24th as a date for Steak and Cabs at our house. I did an informal poll with Fred and Alexred and that date worked with them so hopefully we can get a critical mass. I'll start a new thread. | | | |
