Anything going on in the Metropolis area in October, esp. the second half?

We are considering a weekend, likely in the second half of the month. Whether a VC anniversary dinner, or just any other get togethers. As of now, we are pretty flexible on dates, but there are some darn good fares through November 15th, as long as we fly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
