| June 28, 7:00 p.m. - Fayette Street Grille in Conshy
Hey Philly. Some of you may know me as a regular poster on other BBs. I want to get involved in this one as well. I figured the best way is to meet other local enthusiasts. I'm proposing a dinner at Fayette Street Grille in Conshohocken on June 28. For those that haven't been, they have a wonderful prix fix menu for $30. Theme is certainly up for debate but let me throw out the following as possibilities:
1) Syrah from around the world (Cali, Rhone, Aussie, and Italian)
2) Major region's of France (Loire, Alsace, Burgundy, Rhone, Bordeaux, Sauterne & Barsac)
3) Pinot battle (Cali/Oregon vs. France)
4) Cali's Rhone Rangers (Viognier, Rousanne, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Syrah)
5) Bob Foley wine night (Pride, Switchback, Hourglass, Robert Foley, Engel, Paloma, School House, what am I missing?)
6) Iberian Penninsula night (never done this one but it would be kind of cool - imagine ending the night with sherry, madiera, and vintage port!)
So who's in? We'll have to limit this to 12 people. I will be bringing two guests so that leaves nine seats. Looking forward to meeting all of you. I hope this thread interests you.

| NOTE: The last option in the poll should be The all-encompassing "Other!"

You can count me in....although by looking at the results so far, I'll have a hard time with the Foley theme MC

| Funny stuff. We have two of us confirmed and 8 votes for themes! Matt, nice to see you can make it. Thomas, I'm sorry that you can't. To be honest I practically picked the date out of a hat. Any weeknight with at least two weeks to prepare works for me. Let me know if you early birds want to switch the date.

I'd be interested in a Philly off-line on a weekend.

| A ohilly offline on a weekend is theoretically possible. With enough notice, of course. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| MC,
Right now it just looks like you and me (and a couple of my non-BB wine friends). Do you think it's the date that is keeping people away? Are weekends better for people? If it's just a few of us, that's fine with me (bigger pours). We could also adjust the theme accordingly. MC, what theme would you prefer?

| Joshua,
I'm still in if you still want to make it happen. We can also put together a large weekend Philly off-line for a weekend in the future.
As far as the categories, I'd prefer to do a Pinot Battle OR a food/wine pairing with dinner. With 4 of us, that might be a good option. I'll PM you wines that I'd be interested in bringing, and whatever you decide to do is good with me.

| Sorry guys. Weekdays don't work for me. I'm at the office before 4AM, so I need my beauty rest during the week. There, that should get the sarcasm flowing! | | | |
