| TRep is coming to Norfolk for a visit, so we're putting together a mini offline in his honor. The current plan is to go to Brutti's . I'll be talking to them in short order once we get a better idea of how many we have. They have a nice list and interesting views on corkage. PM or post if you're interested (and haven't already talked to me). | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/ |

| Juggs....
You obviously haven't met Mrs. T-Rep yet, have you? She may only be 5'1" tall but I'm definitely afraid of her....not really, but she can still pack a wallop.
Raybanz...
Not a long weekend, but I'm actually becoming a "wine mule" to bring Gary some juice from LCC and to bring back some juice from Gary to VerMagnussan. Also doing some calls there so why not multi-task??

| LOL, Sheldon. Krystall actually has her last exam on Thursday, 4/28, but it's a good excuse to celebrate completing her first year of grad school. | | | |

| We have a reservation for 8 ppl at 8pm on the 27th, in the alcove at Brutti's. The owner himself is calling me back on corkage, since the girl I talked to didn't know anything about it. We should plan to bring our own wine; I think we'll be fine. The reservation is for 8 though we only have 6 ppl, just in case. Dr. T. told me he has a friend that owns a new place in Norfolk; he's getting back to me on that because he might not be available. I'd much rather go to someplace where we know the owner. The bottom line of all this is that we have a Brutti's reservation, though we might have an 11th hour change. Everyone comfortable with that? | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/ | |

If we're able to bring wine into Brutti's, is there any theme that you think we should do? The place is Italian, correct?

| It's certainly Italian-themed, though there are some nice seafood options. Combining the two, the cioppino is very good.
I'm currently on an Italian kick, so it's tough for me to think of other things. Unfortunately, I haven't ever had an Italian white that I've liked. We're small enough that I don't think we need a theme, but I'll probably be bringing something reddella Italia . If we're going to have something white, let's grab it off the menu there; it'll be a nice gesture back to them for allowing us corkage. | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/

| I own zero Italian wines, and know even less about them. LOL
I can either pick up some white off their list, or bring something like pinot or zin that should work OK.

| Gary/Juggs...
While I don't have much in the way of Italian wines in the cellar, I'll bring a red with me as well as something else, probably a pinot.
Look forward to meeting you all...

| Looks like it's Pinot all around! You'll never get an argument from me on a tasty PN. You guys bring the Pinot, I'll bring the Italian. | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/ | |

| Gary:
I have a lot of pinot, mostly from California.....how about a 2001 Ojai Pisoni Vineyards PN and a 2002 Siduri Gary's Vineyards PN?

| Sounds good to me.
I'll bring an '03 Loring Gary's and '03 Turley Dusi zin.
We should have plenty of wine. My wife and daughter will drink little, if at all.

We should consider bringing our own. Do you have a carrying case for yours? I don't mind drinking white out of their stems (I actually don't mind drinking red; I'm in the "there's only a minimal difference" camp). If you have a case, you can bring an extra stem for TRep; otherwise, I can bring one. | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/
