| Would there be any interest in an offline along the lines run by the "Trouble Causing Forumites" over on WS? A nice restaurant, a private room, a fixed price menu, bring a bottle each. Total price per head would be in the $60-$100 range including tax, corkage and service. | | | http://scmwine.blogspot.com - My wine blog.
http://scmwine.wikispaces.com - your guide to the Santa Cruz Mountains and Santa Clara Valley
|

| As an example I called Parcel 104 - a great restaurant in Santa Clara. They have several private rooms for about 30 people and will provide a prix fixe dinner at $65 per head. With tax and service it would be $83. I asked about corkage and explained that I'd prefer a flat rate per head; they sad they would call me back. I think their normal corkage is $25 but if we could cut a deal, say $10 or $15, that would keep the cost under $100 per head.
I'll pursue this if there is interest. If the price is too high I can try other restaurants. | | | http://scmwine.blogspot.com - My wine blog.
http://scmwine.wikispaces.com - your guide to the Santa Cruz Mountains and Santa Clara Valley
| |

Parcel 104 is good.
I didn't know they had any private rooms in the restaurant. They may be talking about one of the banquet rooms in the hotel which imo is not the same.
I had a wine tasting there about three years ago with 60 people. We took over the far side of the restaurant that is up one step. There is a 4-foot divider with flowers dividing the rooms so it is not completely private but it worked well for us with that many people.
I love Parcel 104. Bradley Ogden is up there with my top five favorite chefs. | | | |

That's because it's private According to their web site Our private dining room can accommodate 34 guests and features a state of the art media center ... When not in use the media center is hidden in a decorative cabinet made of the same American hard woods featured throughout our restaurant.

That sounds like their "semi-private dining room"

Amen. That's partly why I picked it - that and it's so conveniently located. | | | http://scmwine.blogspot.com - My wine blog.
http://scmwine.wikispaces.com - your guide to the Santa Cruz Mountains and Santa Clara Valley
| |
