As part of the 2nd Annual Vinocellar Anniversary festivites I've gotten a tour ofAnchor Brewing Company. Anchor is the world famous maker of Anchor Steam Beer, Anchor Porter, Liberty Ale, Old Foghorn Barleywine Ale, Anchor Small Beer, and Anchor Summer Beer. They also make distilled spirits (which alas we can't taste during the tour). The Gin they make is fantastic.

The tour of Anchor starts at 1:00 p.m. and takes about 45 minutes during which they regale you about the history of Anchor Brewing and you get to see how beer is made walking around the facility. After all the walking around one is of course parched and in need of refreshment so we will repair back to the tap room for samples (rather large samples) of all of Anchors' malted beverage products. After sampling all the products you may ask for refill(s) of your favorite for further contemplation.

I have a reservation for 10 (I'm one of the 10). We will not be the only people on the tour as there are usually 30 or so people on the tour.

Post here if you would like to join me for this fantastic slice of San Francisco. Best of all the tour is free (hear that, Free Beer!).

Still working on my flight arrangements, but count me in as a tentative yes. Thanks for arranging the tour.

I'll bet this will be a great tour. I wanna meet Fritz Maytag. And Mariposa St. is so easy to get to. I'd love to come along but I really don't think I can make it.

Come on davidn, you can get up here. It is a great tour (been on it 30 or 40 times). Fritz is frequently around, I've had him serve a beer to me when I asked for seconds once.
