| I'd like to put together another mini-offline. The only date we have through the middle of September is 6 Aug. I'd like to try Brutti's in Portsmouth (especially since they've said corkage is a possibility).

| JUGGERNT-
I'd like to get together, since this is now twice we've missed each other, but am out of town in promised land [Napa, Los Gatos, SF,Carmel] then.
September is a much better month for me.

| Can a DC Crudite crash the party? I travel the entire Mid-Atlantic region for my work so I can plan on being in the Tidewater area when my schedule allows. Mid-September works for me but I can't make it on Sept. 15th. How do you get around the no corkage allowed in Virginia issue?
Hope to meet you all in the fall...

| OK, looks like September is better.
I'll see what I can arrange with Brutti's. The wine steward there says we can get around the no corkage deal by bringing the wine to their storage facility, which is outside the confines of the restaurant. It then becomes "their" wine, which they then sell to us for $18. | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/

I like the restaurant's creativity. Now if only some restaurants in Northern Virginia would do the same....

| TRep: We're down here out of the mainstream, as it were. Fewer people, fewer prying eyes.
In answer to your original question, btw, you're more than welcome to come down for anything we're having! Certainly, the more VCers, the better! I'll let you know when I get something scheduled. | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/

Just give the go ahead and I'm there. Since you took the plunge and drove up route 95 to do The Caucus Room off line, I'll be happy to go down 95 to represent the DC Cru...look forward to meeting our southern bretheren...
