| You guys were so well behaved that Mrs said I could have you back for another evening.
So here it is, Saturday June 12. Be ready for the champagne toast at 5:45pm. I'm trying a new format, sort of a tapas/small tasting course approach this time. As promised its a duck, shrimp and scallop done Asian & Mexican style.
Le Menu:
First Course Shrimp Keleguin – shrimp, fresh coconut, lemon, scallions presented in a crisp tortilla wedge Smoked Duck Tostada on a Fresh Handmade Tortilla, Panca Pepper Salsa, Crispy Duck Skin
Second Course Smoked Duck Ravioli Thai Style, with a Saffron - Coconut Cream Lemongrass Broth Smoked Duck Tamale Timbale, Black Mole & Tomatillo Puree
Third Course Chili – Maple Glazed Scallops, Sweet Potato and Corn Puree, Roasted Corn Sauce Smoked Duck Lumpia, Green Mango Salsa and Fina Deni Sauce
Fourth Course Crispy Duck Breast, Three Flavor Basil Sauce & Pancit Noodles Mesquite Roasted Shrimp, Roasted Garlic & Spring Vegetable Relish, Guajillo Chili Shrimp Sauce Fifth Course Selection of Artisan Cheeses
The RSVPs:
Capitolkat + Mrs Cap. Dinwiddie + Mrs DW. Fred JohnnyB + girl Doc_ + Mrs. Doc (and baby Doc) (an honorary DC Cru member while he is a resident in DC) Jaimetown Swill Whiner
Questionables: TJ (but of course) Juggernaut (supposedly in the area that weekend, invite out there if he can make it)
TravelRep is on travel that weekend and is out.
As you might guess, pairing wines might be difficult so what me might do is open a few bottles at a time. Any suggestions on the wine format?

| I think I'm in for this, too. However, having been in for May up until this week, you may want to put me in the TJ category (no offense TJ). | | | "We are the Hokies!" | |

| Jake is going to be so upset that he isn't coming. Now that he is getting into cooking, he would be in awe (just like the rest of us) of Vince's creations. | | | |

| Corkage....
Sure, make me feel bad...post the menu that Mrs. T and I will be missing and now I'm salivating. Perhaps being in Tortola in a meeting room for three days will be a consolation prize, but I'm not sure...I'm sure the food won't be nearly as good!
Have a great time!

| VerMag-shot you PM, hope you can make it. Traveldude, we'll miss you for sure. Tortola ain't that bad, though. Fred, yes the menu is somewhat ambitious, but the real challenge will be service - 30 or so odd plates going down per course. But it will be fun in any event. | | | |

LOL, Board-O!
Frankly, I had nearly the same reaction! Thank you so much, Corkage!
Looking over the menu, I would suggest that I bring a 2002 JJ Christoffel Kabinett and a 2001 Martinelli Moonshine Ranch PN, but if I should go in a different direction, let me know.

| Good call Board-O!
The only thing I'm certain of right now is that I'm going to bring a bottle of Port for dessert. Not sure what yet but probably a 94 Warre or Dow. | | | "It's better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out, then outside the tent pissing in." -- Lyndon Johnson

| Corkage,
I am considering bringing either the 2000 Argyle Nuthouse, 2002 Radio-Coteau Savoy, or if you think you want something more substantial for the cheese course, the 2000 Bodegas Caro Mendoza. Which ever you wish. I will bring two bottles of whatever you want (or one each of any of these)

| Whiner and DW, the wine sounds great. As I mentioned, an exact pairing with each course will be difficult (mostly because I can't pair wines that well and really can't focus on it). So I think people should bring what they feel might be a good match and we'll go with it. Board-O and Mdriver, you know if you are ever in town We'd love the honor of hosting you. Board-O, I've always said Idenjoy cooking with you so you just let me know when.... | | | |

Any preferences from the other folks attending the dinner? I'd really like to try the RC, but the Caro would go well with the cheese.

Hardly, Juggs. He's only a couple of mos. old.
