| Morning Y'All...
I was on the VC chat area last night and discussed with Revlis the possibility of doing an off-line in conjunction with golf. I suggested that the DC Cru and others from PA/NJ/So. VA/etc. could possibly get together in May or June to do a wine dinner and to get a bunch of us hackers on the links to see how badly we could embarrass ourselves. Is this of interest to anyone? Good food, wine, cigars...what could be better? I'd be willing to start the ball rolling (no pun intended). So, any takers?

| If May, it depends on the date, if June, I'm in. As a matter of fact, in June, I'll be a retiree (at the ripe old age of 42), so I'm *compelled* to play golf Sounds like a blast! | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/ | |

| Ant...I thought that they had beer carts on the golf course..l like your idea of doing a wine cart...
Juggernaut...RETIRED at 42? What am I doing wrong at 51? I think I'll be working at 127!

| The weekend of June 12th works for me. I believe that Father's day is the following week. So far it's Revlis, myself, Juggernt, and AI to drive the wine tasting cart. Let's hope for more!

| You mean you won't participate? I hear that a hockey stick works really well off the tee... | | | |

| LCC,
Unfortunately, the Memorial Day weekend won't work for me due to a family reunion in Northern NJ that weekend. June is better for me but if you're coming down over that weekend, I'm sure that the DC Cru would extend their hospitality and cellars to you...

| Time to resurrect this thread....
I realize that the DC Cru hasn't even coordinated our April and May get togethers and this thread is talking about an event for June. We tentatively discussed doing a golf/wine dinner thing over the weekend of June 11/12ish, however, my schedule will now have me out of town over that weekend. Something about a pesky sales meeting on the island of Tortola in the BVI....in any event, for those who have expressed an interest in coming down to DC to participate, what about the week following...June 18/19?

| T-Rep you bum- Tortola is one of my favorites. My parents actually just got back from 2 weeks at the Longbay Beach Resort & Villa's. I'll look into those dates and let you know. | | | "It's better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out, then outside the tent pissing in." -- Lyndon Johnson | |

| Fred:
Actually, one of my clients, Elite Island Resorts, the one that's having the sales meeting on Tortola, just took over either the ownership or management, I'm not sure, of Long Bay and that's where I'll be. Small world. How did your folks like it? Hope you can break out the sticks in June and join in the revelrie, lying about scores, humiliation and embarrasment, occasional good shot, etc on the links...

| Gee I hope this doesn't count as one of the "official" DC Cru events since I don't play golf. (I agree with Mark Twain) | | | |

| Din...
I'd rather think of the event being an official event with an optional golf outing for those interested in being on the links either earlier on Saturday or Sunday morning. Would that "out" allow you to keep your streak alive? I'm still interested in doing an Italian theme so maybe this could work for June? What do you think?

| Depends on where it is. Last I looked, there were not many places to play in DC. Of course, I'll do my best to keep the streak alive. Now we just have to figure out when and where for April. | | | |

| T-Rep, They love the place, and actually go every year. We used to frequent the Bitter End on Virgin Gorda but realized for the money Longbay is a better bet. We've been tossing around the idea of buying a place down there and rent it when we are not using it. I'm planning on going down next winter, I'll probably scope out the real estate while I'm there.
Suggestion that golf course right down on the potomac might be an option for this event? | | | "It's better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out, then outside the tent pissing in." -- Lyndon Johnson
