| So New Heights it is! Thursday, July 17th at 7PM. I've asked that chef wing it for us for 5 courses, just as he did when we were last there in May. Themes? All pinot...all cab...etc, etc....? Corkage is $20/bottle. No price yet for dinner but if I'm not mistaken, the total price in May was about $80 per person. Din...is that right?
Who's in...

Time for the rest of y'all to chime in.

| I might be able to make it if there is still room. I'd vote for 01 Cabs - as I've got a few...though some folks seem to think they are closed/closing up right now. The ones I've had (nothing recent) have mostly been pretty tasty. Any info on New heights? Address, URL etc and what kind of menu might we be thinking? | | | |

| Winoman....
Yup, there's room for you. I made a reservation for 6 people so there are still spaces left. The website for New Heights is www.newheightsrestaurant.com. The cuisine is contemporary American. The chef is a serious wine guy as well as a great chef. I don't recall what we had back in May...perhaps Poolboy or Dinwiddie can chime in.
I'll have to check to see what '01 Cabs I have, if any, but I'd be open to that theme.

| If we go with the 2001 Cab theme, I'll bring a 2001 Karl Lawrence. Our other theme idea was all whites, in that case I can chip in a 2004 Peay Vineyards Estate. Or we could go for a vintage theme, say 1999 or 2000. | | | |

| Oy, the choices! I'm intrigued by the all white theme. I wonder what the menu would turn out to be?? Anyone else up for this one?

| I was thinking of bringing a 2001 Paul Hobbs To Kalon Cabernet. I thought it was way over the top and the best bottle at the MaCarthurs barrel tasting - not sure how food freindly - but it was a real powerhouse. I've yet to crack one since... | | | |

| Winoman, I will be interested to see how it shows. I love the '02 Hobbs To Kalon. I thought the '04 was overripe to the point of distraction (2nd worst wine for me in an '04 cult tasting). | | | |

Theme? Still up in the air. Winoman and Dinwiddie seem to be up for '01 cabs. I'm always good for pinot and Norm has chimed in about pinot and brunello, I think. Why not do a combination theme of '01 cab and pinot to put this to bed?
I'll advise New Heights re the wines we'll be bringing and see what chef can do and what the cost will be.

| Jake has expressed an interest in attending. If that is OK, I'll bring the Karl Lawrence and let him pick a Pinot Noir.

| I won't be able to make it.
Winoman, the Hobbs 2001 ToKalon is awesome. I had it also at the barrel tasting that you were at (it was the WOTN for me) and bought a six pack then. Opened a bottle with the AlexReds a few years back - tight, but so much packed in there. I would open before brining the bottle should you chose it - everyone else is in for a treat.

| Here's the latest...
New Heights' 5 course tasting menu is $75 per person. Corkage is $20/btl. The chef knows that we're bringing cabs and pinots.
The lineup...
TRep/Wine tba, but most likely a pinot Dinwiddie/2001 Karl Lawrence Jake/A pinot Winoman/2001 Paul Hobbs To Kalon Norm/A pinot or a brunello.
Still undecided...
The PoolBoy
Reservations are at 7PM.
