2003 Bodegas Alto Moncayo Campo de Borja - Spain, Aragón, Campo de Borja (6/30/2006)WIML93,PURPLE93,NOWA,NOWS
Tasted June 30, 2006 at a retail tasting. Opened and served immediately in a Riedel tasting glass. Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of cinnamon, potpourri, mahogany, (nose keeps changing!), laquer (not bad), black berries and burnt sugar. Flavors of red berries, toast, spices, a mix of berries and a touch of mocha on the finish. Well integrated tannins with medium acidity. Medium to full bodied. This wine really coats the mouth. Can be drank now with a little decanting but should age well for five years ore more. Based on the local retail price of $32.29 I’d say the value here is highly recommended. I picked up a few bottles for the cellar to see where this one goes.
