| Thanks TN,
I just might go by. Only problem is that it would not be able to make it by until 4:00 or so. I'm sure most of the good ones will have disappeared; been there - done that!

| I've not run into that there, but I usually go taste the "weird stuff" that has lower attendence. We did do the Burgundy tasting on Friday before driving to Felton.
Why exactly do they pour wines to taste that they don't have available to purchase? | | | Paul Romero - Owner/Winemaker Stefania Wine<br>www.stefaniawine.com

| I'm more worried that they will run out of wine for tasteing. They "advertise" something like 20 different wines to taste but when you show up there are only 10 of them left to taste. | | | |

I've been to the Wine Club in SC late in the afternoon and they did run out, or rather, they did not want to open another bottle when the tasting was almost over. You may want to check what's left before you pay.
Yesterday, I was going to buy some Jadot, but they did not have any on hand and were offered on a "pre-arrival" basis. So, I left my name and wants. Also, the people pouring were from Jadot and not Wine Club ee's.
Two other tiimes, I've been to Wine Club tastings in SF, where they poured wines they did not have to sell. Both were not poured by store employees, but by distributor reps. One was for some Ken Wright PN, the other was champagne, which I don't remember the label. Or they had 1 or 2 bottles available of the 7-8 lined up. | | TN posted on Cellartracker"

| I think this "practice" is done by many wine stores.
When it happens it really bumbs me out. I leave the store thinking they are a bunch of jerks.
Also, I don't get it. I would love it if I advertised something and too many people showed up. If I ran out of a product because of it I would offer a substitute that better than the original item. Maybe I lose some money but it is well worth it if the customers walk away satisfied and go post on a bulletin board how great we are. The alternative is disasterous.
